I recommend Vietnam Bike Tours, and i recommend cycling as a great way to see the country side in the Vietnam particularly the Mekong Delta region.

I had so much fun, I did the 16days/15nights Saigon to Angkor Wat to Bangkok tour, it was fairly challenging physically for me but that was because I could have prepared better by doing more riding at home before I left.

My guides Ahn in Vietnam and Lin in Cambodia were simply awesome and there is a support vehicle if you need it, the guides were always checking with me and we would discuss how far and fast we would ride each section, we kept the pace so I was challenging but not exhausting.

Cycling through this part of the world is simply fantastic, the people are so friendly and the pathways and cycle tracks through the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam were ideal for this type of trip.

The cycle tracks took us through dozens and dozens of small villages and I was privileged to see hundreds of folk going about their everyday lives it was just great I seriously think I would do something like this again soon.

The roads in Cambodia were in poorer condition so this made the ride harder but to visit Angkor Wat which was my goal made all the hard work worth while. I hope to add a couple of videos to demonstrate how much fun I had.

I totally recommend this Vietnam Bike and Mr Vu Trong was very obliging and helpful in all my dealings with him.

I would just like to add my own personal thanks to you and your teams for the exceptional organisation that you guys did for our cycle tour.

I honestly cannot find any fault at all. From the moment we landed in Saigon until we left in Bangkok, you had everything organised like clockwork and we just had to enjoy our holiday!.

I would appreciate it if you could forward this email to Hai, Tinh (Vietnam), Pola (Cambodia) and Mr Vussie (Thailand) to express our thanks to them for making this such a wonderful personalised tour.

If you ever need any references please send them to me!

Dear Vu,

I am sorry we did not get to meet you in Saigon when we were there, but we are back home safely now and have many wonderful memories of our visit to your country.  For all of us, it was truly an adventure of a lifetime to do a cycle trip through Vietnam and Cambodia.

We would like to thank you for arranging such an amazing trip, where everything, across three different countries, went according to plan.

Our guide and driver team of Mr Hai and Mr Tinh were the perfect hosts.  They managed to make us feel at home and attended to our every need from the minute we arrived.  We will certainly recommend you and your company in future.
Thanks once again for all your assistance.

We have just finished our trip and we have to say a big thank you to Hai and Vu. Hai was a fantastic tour guide, with a great sense of humour, he has made our trip very special. Vu was a real gentleman always there to hand us a cool towel and drink after a hot day in the sun.

Our Mekong trip could not have been better - thanks to Tan.  He is a great guide. Lloyd and I agree that everything was perfect.

The only improvement we can think of is to ensure your customers have sun block.  Our fault but not bringing any; I am now crab colour.

Be assured we will recommend your outfit to anyone we know who might plan biking in the Mekong.

A great thank you to Tan for making the last 2 days of our trip to Vietnam most memorable.

Summary and thanks for the Ho Chi Minh trails trip by bike

Dear Ms Thuy
We have had a most enjoyable week of cycling. To assist you in your future endeavours, we thought the following summary of positives and negatives would be helpful:
Positives:
-Excellent back-up.
-Very good, safe and considerate driver.
-Good route selection.
-Knowledgeable guide.
-Very good accommodation and food – with two exceptions (see below).
-Flexibility, allowing us to change our schedule in Hue for example. This allowed a stay in a great city which justified the decision.
Things that could have been better:
-The guide should inform the riders at least at the start of the day of where we are going and what to expect en route; and should inform the riders continuously of how far we have travelled and how much further to go.
-It would be useful to install cycling-computers (km) on bikes.
-The bikes were not in very good condition. My chain broke on the first day (there was no suitable spare), and both bikes suffered from continuously slipping gears. There were also no spare tyres.
-Given that the vast majority of roads were tar, road tyres could have been fitted.
-The accommodation on the first night was filthy – as was the restaurant we ate in. Tuyen explained that the town was very poor and that was the best we could have got, but we would then have been better staying in another town. The accommodation also in Khe Sanh was not especially good.
Again, many thanks for an excellent trip. We will certainly use you again.
All good wishes
Greg Mills

Subject: RE: Cycling Saigon to Hanoi 17days on May 2011
Hello Mr. Tin,

We are now in Hanoi, where our cycling tour has finished. We are very proud of ourself and very happy with the experience. The cycling routes chosen made us see the Vietnam we wanted to explore. Passing through the back roads and small villages left us with great memories. Although we would of like more time to see Dalat and hoi An...we felt that the city breaks were well chosen and the visits very interesting.

The cycling was sometimes hard (mostly due to the heat) but we always felt well supported by Tinh and Hai, our team in the south. Our experience in the south was amazing thanks to these two! They were always concern for our well-being, professionals, often asking for feedback, curious of our suggestions and impressions. Hai's English was good and he gave great explanations and shared his Vietnamese culture very well.

The transfer from Hue to Nam Dinh by night train was, as you probably heard, a bit of a mess up. Altough we told the cabin crew where we were stopping and that we woke up 1 hour prior to arrival time, nobody told us where to get off. A couple of Vietnamese women also missed the Nam Dinh stop because the crew member of our cabin were asleep. The four of us were waiting,  standing up at the door ready to exit. We looked for the cabin crew without any luck. We were told much later that we had missed our stop.  As you must know, these trains are often overbooked so you can imagine our surprise when 2 extra men entered our cabin, into our beds! We were then 6 in the cabin, 2 foreign girls with 4 older men. When we missed our stop, we didn't go back to our cabin as we didn't have anymore beds till hanoi. It would have been nice if our northern guide had the wagon and cabin number and came to get us inside at the Nam Dinh stop. Although we had a mobile phone and our northern guide had our number, we were only contacted by him at around 4 am, on our arrival to Hanoi. We waited near 3 hours in front of the train station, harassed by taxi drivers who followed us to our breakfast, saying and mimicking sexual comments. This is something that we were prepared to deal with as single women travelling alone, but what offended us the most was that when our nothern tour guide found us, and that the taxi driver was still screaming at us, our new guide never asked us if we were ok, or if there were any problems. Not even a simple "what happened on the train?" His coldness may be due to the fact that he had to drive back to Hanoi in the night. But at no point were we given the option to make our own way back to Nam Dinh or arrange something else on our schedule. The northern guide, although he stayed professional, was detached, never told us the plan/schedule of the day, and spoke to us minimally. His English was fair but his undersatnding was quite poor. Many of our questions were unanswered.

On the plus side, the hotel accomodations were excellent. The food was splendid (mostly in local restaurants). Our most mediocre meals were actually in the more expensive and "western" places.

Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you for asking for our comments. We hope that you will try to make the train transition smoother for future travelers with vietnambiketours.com, especially since most will not be able to understand any Vietnamese. Both guides should be able to speak to each other to make the transfer easier before the stop is missed!

Thank you for all your work. And please send our kindest regards to Hai and Tinh.
Marilyse and Isabelle

Hi Kim,

We had a great time.
In terms of things that could be improved, a couple of the hotels were not so great. The hotel in DaLat which was unfinished and the Central Hotel I think it was which was surrounded by busy roads and was noisy and smokey! Otherwise the guide and driver were absolutely fantastic and I would love to come back and ride more. It was great being able to customize the tour to our group and preferences. I felt very safe and well looked after.

Thanks for helping make it a great trip!

I have to say we found the tour very much fun and was very enjoyable.  It gave us a great experience and insight in to the Mekong area of Vietnam away from the busy areas of HCMC.  Our guide for the day was great – he had great knowledge of the area, loved biking and made the day great fun.  As my girlfriend and I are both very keen cyclists it was nice to be able to travel a good distance and she some lovely sights.

Once again many thanks for a great experience.

Hello Tin
Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our recent cycling holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. The organisation was perfect and the hotels etc of a very high standard. The guides were all very knowledgeable and helpful. Of special note was Polo our general ride leader in Cambodia. His enthusiasm for cycling was infectious and he encouraged us all into doing more than we thought we could due to the heat. He also proved to be resourceful when we had to change a route due to a road being worked on.
I will certainly be recommending Vioetnam bike tours to any of my friends.

I totally agree - fabulous trip with really good bikes, guides, itinerary, accommodation, meals. The Laotian driver, On, was particularly diligent at filling water bottles, providing snacks, handling luggage. Both Tang and Sangvien were flexible to last minute change of plans so I always felt we were making the most of the trip - cycle hard, party hard and get immersed in the local culture - I reckon it's a winning formula for a bunch of young Aussie males and Vietnam Bike Tours provided it all.

Thanks Huy. Thanks to your team. And thanks guys. Here's to Siem Reap.

Hi Huy,
It was a fantastic trip and honesty hard to fault. The guys were fantastic particularly Sangvien (we called him Sung). The Laos people are extremely friendly and so are the Vietnamese. Honestly hard to fault the trip. Only thing maybe was the bikes in Vietnam maybe could have been slightly better quality. It all turned out fine though a few issue when we first tried to head out from Sapa. The accommodation was fantastic and we all really enjoyed the home stay. I hope that tourism does not ruin these people. If the tourists behave correctly with their money I think they will be okay. I have sent this to all the other guys for comments.

In 3 -4 years we will all probably be keen for a Vientian to Siem Reap trip and Sangvien is keen to be our guide.

Anyway thanks Huy for all your efforts. It would have been nice to catch up though understand you were quite a way away. We are making a book of the photos and also a video of the trip. I will pass a dvd onto you when this is complete.

Thank you for your wonderful assistance and we had an amazing time cycling. The Mekong Delta was beautiful and we had learnt more than we expected to.
Everything was exceptional, the only comment we have is the hotel on the 2nd night at Travinh 'Cuu Long' had a disco-tech night downstairs in which the entire hotel was very noisy from the music. For future tours maybe avoid staying at this hotel on Saturday nights. It would also be good to specify type of hotel rooms (single, double, twin, no smoking) before the trip so there is no misunderstanding.
Tiger was very professional and help organised this very well
Thank you very much once again, we looking forward doing another tour in the near future.

Subject: Impression of our tours / address of a visited temple and orphanag
Dear Tin Ngo,
Thank you very much for your kind message.
At first we have to  apologize for our late reply.
After our return from Vietnam lots of work was waiting for us but now we have the time to answer you unhurriedly.
All together we really enjoyed the two bike tours.
Our personal guide was professional and the equipment well-tended.
About the beauty of Vietnam, the friendliness of the Vietnamese people – and the tastiness of the Vietnamese food – there is only one word to say: Impressive!
Also cause of “Vietnam Bike Tours” we spent a wonderful time and we already make plans for our next visit in your beautiful country.
As soon as we know some more we will contact you again for sure.
Concluding, please do us a favor:
During the “Mekong-Delta-Tour” we visited a temple together with an orphanage leaded by a Buddhistic nun. All the people there was this friendly and got a lot of wonderful impressions of the life of the children there.
We also did some nice pictures which we want to send to the nun and the children to remember our visit.
For this reason, may you please write us the name and the complete address of this location?
Many thanks in anticipation and best regards,
Ralf + Frank

Hello Mr Vu,
Vietnam Bike tours feedback.
I very much enjoyed the Vietnam Bike tour from Saigon to Hanoi, Our guide “tiger” was very good and knowledgeable and a down to earth bloke, you knew you what you got with him! (I will be keeping in touch with him) Mr Singh took care of us in the north. Tiger took good care of us taking us to local restaurants as sitting in western restaurants is not what you want when you come to Vietnam with the delightful food on offer. Of the 2 guides Tiger was the better. Mr Singh took us to local restaurants as well.

The trip itself was amazing so much to see and totally off the beaten track seeing locals get on with their daily life, spectacular scenery as well, I found the Cycling quite difficult but coped with it well, this was a challenge and I succeeded at it. The group we had was a great group, there were only 4 of us but to be honest this was a lot better as there was more space in the van.
The Bike we had on the first part of our trip was not great, it was a Marin and was quite hard going , and I lost a pedal on 2 occasions, a stronger bike was needed like the Trek we had on the second part of our trip, a much better, stronger bike.
There was quite a bit of Van time in between destinations which meant we were rushing around quite a bit and not having much time to relax but I’m not really sure how you could improve on this. Possibly add an extra few days onto the trip in certain locations.

There were issues with accommodation which got unresolved which I was not happy about this, it was down to when the trip was organised I was given 2 options of where to stay, I did ask the question as to where the rest of the group was staying but was told it did not matter so I chose the more expensive accommodation. However I found out when I was on the trip I was separated from my fellow cyclists, this causes a lot of trouble as this means a couple of picks up`s and drop off`s buy the van driver and with hotels being quite far away you waste a lot of time, I did try and get this changed however even though I was told it was not a problem By Vietnam Bike tours things did not get changed.
I suggest for future let people know where others are staying and try and get people in the same hotel its makes things a lot more easy and saves a lot of time.
I would of course be happy to recommend the company to friend or family in future what an experience. Big thanks to “Tiger” for looking after us in the south, no complaints he was really good, and a thanks to Mr. Singh for the north.
I hope to do this again 1 day with better weather as it was quite rainy in the south and central highlands.
I hope this feedback helps. Thanks Richard

Hi Kim Anh,
I had meant to email you once I returned from Vietnam to thank you for organizing such a lovely trip for my friend and I.  Unfortunately work has been crazy ever since I got back and I have been practically living in the office since .....
We had a really lovely time cycling down the delta. The itinerary was perfect and our guide and driver were both really nice, helpful and informative. The home stay was such an unique experience too! We both felt so refreshed after we returned to HK, albeit with a sore bum!
I fully intend to visit Vietnam again soon and will let you know when I am next in the country!
Many thanks, Cecillia

Hello Kim Anh,
It really was a great day, I only have good things in mind, the bikes were in great shape, the guide was a great guy, super friendly informative and funny. The trip had just the right length, lovely country roads with little traffic. The lunch was very tasty and in a really nice place

There is very little I can recommend for improvement only that I would have liked to do a multi- day trip, but unfortunately we already had all our hotel nights booked so could not do that. If you could find a way that your customers find out about your services before booking the hotels surely would help to get more people doing multiday trips. Thanks a lot for a great day.

Dear Kim Anh,
This was one of the best experiences of my life. I cant tell you enough what an asset Tan is to your company. He is a truely amazing tour guide and made the trip the huge success that it was. He went beyond the call of duty as a tour guide, nothing was too much trouble and he was caring, thoughtful and extremely informative. I learnt more from Tan than from any of the books I have read on Vietnam. He really went out of his way to give us a "real" experience and he put his heart and soul into making us happy and keeping us entertained.
The bikes were really good and very light and in excellent condition. My Husbands bike kept breaking though, the chain kept coming off, but the rest of us had no trouble.  The bus driver Hung, was an absolute gentleman and was always waiting with a kind smile and a wave of encouragement. He was always read with a chilled wet wipe and fresh cold water for our bottles and always knew when we needed an chocolate biscut... all this and the poor man didnt speak english.  There were times when I was ridding up a mountain and was almost out of energy & I would round a corner and there would be our driver Hung, with a reasuring smile and it gave me the life to keep on going.I knoe Tan and Hung had not worked together before, but they were a dynamic duo and a winning combination. As a group we all loved them both.

The only dissapointment I had was that Tan did not continue as my guide to Hanoi.  We had such a comfort level with Tan by this point in the trip, I really would have preferred to keep Tan and not change tour guides. I know that Nerida agreed with me, even thought she was not going on to that part of the tour.  It was a bit of inconvient to have to start all over again with a new tour guide, because you are getting tired by the end of the trip and you dont feel like having all those "first" conversations all over again with someone new. You dont want to have to think and  explain yourself all over again to someone new. Its so much more relaxing and easy to have someone that already knows you so well, they know what you need and what you like to eat and how hard to push you etc.
Other than that I found the trip to be more amazing that I could have hoped for! I will definately be recommending your company to all my friend. They are already bombarding me for information and all the exciting details of my adventure, so I am pretty sure that some of them will be planning  this trip in the near future.
Kim Anh thank you so much for arranging this trip, it is a memory I will treaure for the rest of my life.
Kind regards, Kimberley

Hi Tin,
The bike trip was great. We had a good time in Sapa and they were able to modify the Sapa portion for my mom--we did some trekking instead of biking. We had some good weather and some bad for the bike trip itself. The driver did an excellent job on sometimes scary roads. The guide (Dao) was helpful and friendly.  The route was beautiful and definitely worth the trip.
We do have a suggestion--we found the set meals that they ordered for us at first to be simply too much food. We don't eat much meat and felt bad about wasting so much food. (Later they let us order off the menu instead.) Perhaps we could just be given a set amount to spend as we needed on food and drink per meal or per day.
Other than this, I was very happy with the tour. Thank you for all your help.
Sincerely,
Karen Rayle

I just wanted to drop you a quick note saying that Jeannine & I had an incredible time in your fascinating country.  Our very positive experience in no small part stems from the very professional way Vietnam Bike Tours handled our tour.  Your organization of all the details was incredible, your choice of accomodations and restaurants was excellent and your staff of drivers and guides were courteous, very friendly, organized, and very informative.  I especially would like to acknowlege "Swing" our second guide from Nha Trang.  You really have a "gem" representing your company in "Swing".  He did an extraordinary job.  I would also like to thank you personally for your patience in answering all my questions so promptly and thoroughly.  If any of our friends need some expert help in planning a trip to Vietnam I certainly will be sending your way.  Again thank you for your help in making our trip to Vietnam such an amazing adventure.

We have just got back from our holiday and would like to thank you for a great day out on our cycling trip. It was one of the best days of our holiday. Hui and his driver did everything we could ask. They were on time and took us to some wonderful places. We met local people at a dragon fruit farm, boated across the Mekong and had a local meal at a river side restaurant. We also visited a coconut plantation and were priveleged to see and hear a local singing group perform some beautiful music. It really was a fantastic day. Even the drinks were supplied which was very welcome. I am sure many other people will enjoy the tours you arrange.

Dear Huy and Tin,
Forgive me for taking so long to write: I spent another week in Bangkok after finishing our bike ride, and then, after returning, made a work-related trip to San Francisco.  I am only slowly settling down to my regular routines.
You should know that all three of us had a *fantastic* time during the bike ride.  It really was one of the best trips we had taken.  The organization of the trip was very good, and the people of Vietnam made it simply memorable.  Plus, Trung and Boeun were just a great pair of tour guides.  They worked very hard to make everything perfect!
I am likely to spend considerable amount of time in Singapore, starting later this year.  It is not yet confirmed, but I am working on this plan.  If the plan comes to fruition, then I'd like to take another trip with you: after all, Vietnam is very close to Singapore and I can easily come over for a few days.
Huy, on facebook (which I dont use very much), you'd apologized for the travelers checks.  You shouldn't apologize at all.  Every such incident makes us learn about Vietnam.  Thanks to your not being able to cash these checks yourself, we spent a wonderful three hours in a small bank in some small town (whose name we have forgotten), where we learned about banking in Vietnam, and where we talked to the cashiers in the bank at length and learned about their lives!
Thanks both of you, and please pass on our appreciation to Trung and Boeun as well! (I've attached a picture of the three of us for your records!)

Dear Tin,
Thank you for arranging the trip. We had a good time there in Vietnam and Sinh did a wonderful job, he went out of his way to go to less travelled roads (not so many trucks) and brought us to scenic sideways to enjoy the trip all the way.
Our expectation was actually to ride a bid more on farm ways or off road away from all the honking and dust whirling trucks and buses. If not for Sinh's efforts to bring us to quieter places we would not have enjoyed the trip so much. Perhaps next time we shall try biking around Sapa.
All in all it was a nice experience and we will surely be back in Vietnam on of these days. Your staff is well trained and eager to make the travellers day a memorable one.
Best Regards from quiet Singapore (no honking) and merry Christmas

We enjoyed our time in Dalat and like the scenery very much. Cycling on the first day was beautiful and easy - good warm up. However, for myself, the 2nd day was too hard because of a lot of steep hills + slippery from the rain. I normally like rough terrain but it's a bit too tiring for me.
I hope the guides would not be bored as I got off to drag my bike many times but at least I survived till the end.
Anyway, it was a fun trip and thank you for all your help.

Hello,
My name is Andrew Edwards, and my friend and I have just returned from a tour with your company from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap. I wanted to thank you all for a fantastic holiday that was made even better by the way we were looked after by our guide, Trong Huy. Huy made our trip so special and interesting and we had a fun time with many laughs shared. Huy is a great guy and is a real asset to your company. His professionalism is outstanding and he went way beyond the call of duty to ensure that our tour was a success. Our driver Phuc, was also very helpful and always ensured that we had cold water and plenty to eat on our rest stops. The tour was great and we saw so much that we wouldn't have been able to see from a bus window! The people we met and sights we saw will be remembered always! Vietnam is a very beautiful country with the friendliest people in the world - we will be back, and we will be using vietnambiketours.com and Huy!
Thanks again, and best regards,
Andrew Edwards

Hi Tin,
Thank you very much for a wonderful tour... I had a great time going through fishing villages, and getting very lucky with the weather.
I would recommend this tour to my friends, due to the kind tourguiding services of Huy and the driving of Danh.

Dear Mr. Tin :
I was very happy with the arrangements for my Mekong bike trip. Huy was a capable and friendly guide. The food was very good.  The arrangements at the comfortable home stay were quite sufficiant and the hotel in Can Tho far exceeded my expectations.
Here is my one suggestion. On all of these organized trips, with your company and with most others I have used, there is at least one night where the dinner is taken at a restaurant frequented by Western tourists. On the Mekong trip it was at the Can Tho Market restaurant.  It was full of tourists. I would prefer to go to a restaurant frequented by the local people. The food at the local people restaurant is always the best.
I am traveling to see local culture as it is lived by local people.
I would recommend your company to my friends.
Thank you for your inquiry.

Hello Kim Anh,
The biking tour through the Mekong Delta with Vietnambiketours was a real success! We are completely satisfied with your service. Mr Van, our guide, was a very motivated and professional guide. He knows very nice places and little paths where to bike, we had several stops to taste local fruit etc. I would highly recommend this tour to everybody going to Vietnam, it was one of my preferred tours in Vietnam (we did several little organised tours)! I could not tell you what to improve, it was really perfect.
Thanks again to your company and Mr Van,
Best regards,
Christina Grimme
