Highlight: Mai Chau is located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh.
From the top of Cun Mountain, one can admire the superb panorama of Mai Chau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Many minorities, including the Thai ethnic group, live in Mai Chau.
Stilt houses border both sides of the roads. The houses are quite large with palm leaf roofs and polished bamboo-slat floors. The Sunday market brings a lot of people into town. You can get a good run off the top of the dam, hammer it down the road and up the steep runaway truck sidings. Brief Itinerary:
We ride approximately 100 km, mostly on off-road tracks, that vary from hard packed jeep roads to single-track. This is a moderatley challenging mountain bike trip with climbsto stunning views and spectacular descents. It is suitable for people who are fit, have off-road experience, and enjoy a mountain bike challenge in a beautiful environment.
Our guides are knowledgeable on the local area and customs, and they explain the history, culture, and local way-of-life each time we stop.
Day1: Hanoi - Mai Chau (50km cycling) (L)
Transfer out of Hanoi city to Luong Son - picturesque landscapes. Stop to vist the Thay pagoda and cycle to Mai chau village. Lunch at local restaurant.
Arrive Mai Chau and overnight in the home stay of white Thai ethnic.
Day2: Mai Chau and surroundings (50km cycling) (B,L)
After breakfast, ride to visit the morning foggy scenery of the beautiful west region of Viet Nam, and some trekking along the trails. Have picnic lunch.
Back to home stay for checking out and leave for Ha Noi. End of tour.
